The hotel has been vastly improved since new ownership, the room although basic was more than adequate for our needs, the staff were friendly. Maybe the breakfast selection could be improved, other than that I have no faults and will be staying again

Comfy hotel, we appreciated it.
The rooms where tidy and light for the alarm to end and the beds were lovely. The location of the hotel was marvellous - relatively close to Salem Baptist Church. What's more, it was not far from a town center, the garden and Barry for one night.

The staff were fantastic, location was perfect for us (went as Gavin and Stacey tourists and the hotel was actually used twice in filming!). We had a car and could park right outside our room in their courtyard carpark. The price was fantastic so I was expecting a run down room but our room was a new extention. It was a triple room so we had two single beds, a double bed, big bathroom, tv with lots of channels, and lots of space for our clothes. We will definitely be going back, had an amazing weekend! We were also given an early checkin at no extra cost.

Hotel staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and tidy with towels and soap on each bed. Lovely clean crisp white linen on the beds.
Our room was large but the bathroom/toilet, although very clean was very basic. Shower drizzled either freezing cold or boiling hot, nothing in between. Friends bed had a large dip in the middle which meant she didn't sleep. Heating wasn't working so the room was a bit on the cold side.

I had a nice stay here with cozy accommodations and enjoyed lounging by the pool during the day. There were plenty of options for relaxing, like the sunny terrace and the quiet reading nook. Just a heads up, the bathroom could use a bit of freshening up, but it didn't take away from my experience. 😊

The Karaoke on Saturday evening was very entertaining on our return tot he hotel following dinner out in Cardiff.
Help yourself breakfast could have worked but not very well laid out and no mugs available. After reviewing the very limited choice available we checked out and had breakfast in town.

Couples looking for a budget stopover
The staff were super nice, even had a nice chat when we checked in. Plus, the room was clean with fresh towels, always a nice touch. Really helped me settle in right!
It was a bit on the pricier side for what we got, but still okay I guess.

The fact that our room was in the new annexe that was only a year old. The lock on the door was very stiff, so it was difficult to get in and out but otherwise it was perfect for the one night that we stayed in Barry.
The main building was very old, as was the bar, and the garden at the rear, together with the car park, could have done with a decent clear up.
